Lord David Cameron, the foreign minister, has said that “500 (aid) trucks a day” are needed to avoid famine in Gaza. “That means more crossing points. It means simpler logistics. It means stopping sending back items that would be perfectly harmless,” he told reporters in Berlin. Appearing alongside his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock, Lord Cameron added that he “made these points” to Israeli war cabinet minister Benny Gantz in a meeting in London yesterday. Lord Cameron said that his focus has been how to “turn a pause into a permanent sustainable ceasefire”. He urged for a political solution for the Palestinian people that would provide them a “future with the dignity of statehood”.
